Come and paint your very own design and get a unique piece or set of pottery glazed to a professional finish, or why not have a Potti Paints Birthday Party where everyone will have a personalised keep-sake.

How easy is it?

It is easy to paint ceramics and a range of items are available from mugs and plates, to Christmas tree decorations. We have a selection of the most popular designs in Boogle's Barn at any one time, but can also order from an extensive range if you have any specific requirements (special order items will need to be paid in advance and may incur an additional delivery charge). Please come into Boogle's Barn and ask to see the catalogue of items available.

You simply choose your "bisque", which is unglazed ceramic. You then paint it using washable paint and normal art brushes (or your hands!!), then leave it with us for a few days to glaze and fire it to give it that amazing finish.

Staff are on hand to help, so there is nothing to worry about and painting can be done by children (and adults!) of all ages.

We also sell "after-glaze" pens (see pricing below) so that you can come and paint a plate for a special occasion such as a christening, birthday or wedding, leave it with us to glaze and fire with your design, but then use the pen on the day for guests to sign it. You can then either bring it back to us to fire for you or you can fire it in your own oven at home to turn the pen ink into permanent glaze! Potti Magic!

How much does it cost?

The price varies but it is not an expensive activity.

The only price you pay is for the "bisque" itself. This ranges in price according to what you want to paint. Prices start from about £3.50 per item, but there are special prices for parties and there will be offers throughout the year.

"After-glaze" pens are £4.99 when purchased with a Potti Paints session or £5.99 on their own.

Some venues charge a studio fee to cover the paints, glazing and firing. Potti Paints at Boogle's Barn doesn't - this is all included in the price of the "bisque" - so the painting itself is essentially FREE.

Is it food and drink safe?

Yes. The glazed ceramic is food and drink safe. We use unleaded paints and glazes of the highest quality. However, you must remember that it is a hand-made and hand-painted product and therefore should be handled with some care. As such we do not recommend that you use any of the pottery in the microwave or dishwasher. Having said that, some customers do take that risk and have used the plates and mugs normally - including in the dishwasher and microwave without any problems - but we cannot guarantee it!

If you are contacting us for a special order then we will take your requirements and contact you via email or by telephone with an inclusive price. If we can combine your order with one of our regular orders then this will reduce any delivery charges so please try and give us as much advance notice as you can.
